U.S. Chamber Applauds FCC’s Vote on Broadband Deployment
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tim Day, Senior Vice President, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Technology Engagement Center, issued the following statement today following the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) vote to end barriers to broadband deployment:
“The Chamber applauds today’s FCC order that will cut down on the excessive fees imposed by localities for deploying broadband that is essential for Americans to connect to the internet. This will not only lower costs for consumers but also provide better internet access. Additionally, increased access to broadband and digital tools has the potential to add $47 billion annually in GDP for rural small business.”
