C_TEC Statement Applauding Introduction of the SAFE DATA Act
In response to the introduction of the Setting an American Framework to Ensure Data Access, Transparency, and Accountability (SAFE DATA) Act, C_TEC Vice President Jordan Crenshaw issued the following statement:
“The Chamber applauds Senator Wicker for his leadership to achieve the goal of a national privacy law that protects all Americans equally. The SAFE DATA Act, introduced today, is another much needed step by the Senator to ensure Americans have control over their privacy while preserving the use of data to promote benefits like public health, safety, and inclusion. We believe that it is Congress—not federal agencies or states—that is the appropriate body to write privacy rules to ensure robust and lasting online consumer protection.”
