U.S. Chamber Applauds Executive Order Promoting the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Federal Government
Washington, D.C. – Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber’s Technology Engagement Center Tom Quaadman issued the following statement in response to the White House’s executive order on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the federal government:
“The U.S. Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC) applauds the administration’s Executive Order on Promoting the Use of Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence in the Federal Government, which outlines critical principles to guide the responsible use of AI across the federal government. Greater adoption of AI by the federal government will improve public services and make government smarter. We look forward to engaging with the administration and federal agencies to implement the Executive Order and demonstrate the benefits of emerging technologies such as AI.”
In October, C_TEC released “Data for Good and the Need for a National Data Strategy” which provided policy recommendations on data privacy, AI, and modernizing government IT. Similar to this executive order, one the recommendations focused on ensuring that the federal government utilized AI applications to strengthen U.S. global leadership and benefit the public at large.
